Summary of Qualifications
I have over 20 years of experience working with algae for taxonomic, ecological/paleoecological and biostratigraphic purposes. My experience ranges from freshwater taxonomy and ecology of diatoms and non-diatom algae to using diatoms and calcareous nannofossils for biostratigraphic and paleoecological interpretation of marine and freshwater sediments. I have worked in research settings on ships and in laboratories as well as in commercial ones applying my background and experience with algae to meet the needs of various clients with their environmental and geological projects. My work has involved being part of larger projects in which my algal data has been integrated into interpretive results for complex systems and have provided the algal component to individuals or companies for their own research into their ecological and geologic systems.
